Flight Club Gears Up for Billion-Dart Milestone as Reading Venue Opens Its Doors

The Social Darts pioneers are set to hit a major milestone as the brand’s 32nd venue opens in Berkshire this Friday.

Red Engine has announced that Flight Club is on the verge of reaching a gargantuan milestone. The Social Darts bar is approaching one billion darts thrown across its global estate. The announcement comes as the group prepares to launch its newest site, Flight Club Reading, which opens its doors this Friday, 1st May.

The Road to One Billion

Since pioneering Social Darts in 2015, Red Engine has revolutionised the way people get together to socialise. Flight Club has become a global phenomenon, expanding to 32 sites worldwide and welcoming over 14.4 million unique guests (and counting) in the UK alone. The brand is now counting down to its one-billionth dart. This milestone further underscores the demand for the popular Social Darts experience, which has shown no signs of slowing, more than 10 years since it first landed on the hospitality scene.

Strategic Growth

The launch of Flight Club Reading this Friday marks the 16th UK Flight Club opening for Red Engine. The newest venue is located in Reading’s Station Hill development, adjacent to the train station. It has a capacity of 250 and features a stunning bar, 10 semi-private oche playing areas, and an outdoor terrace seating area.

The Berkshire site is another step in the group’s ongoing regional UK strategy, bringing Flight Club’s signature fairground-inspired aesthetic and tech-driven gameplay to the country’s most vibrant hubs.

Beyond the UK, with the support of Red Engine’s partners*, Flight Club is also continuing to expand in the markets it already calls home: the United States, Australia and Ireland. In addition, Red Engine recently announced that it is actively seeking partners to expand the Social Darts bar into new markets in Europe.

Red Engine is also behind the successful competitive socialising bar, Electric Shuffle – a similar concept to Flight Club, which instead spotlights the game of shuffleboard. Since its launch in 2019, it has expanded to nine venues across the UK and the United States.

The Billionth Dart: Who will you take?

To mark the approach to the billion-dart mark, Red Engine has launched a global consumer campaign to drive footfall across the Flight Club estate. Guests booking Social Darts and brunch sessions over the coming weeks (until the billionth dart lands) will be entered into a draw for a global trip for four people to any Flight Club destination worldwide and a Flight Club Gold Card entitling them and their friends to free Social Darts for life.

Steve Moore, CEO and Founder of Flight Club, commented: “A billion darts. Just saying it out loud feels slightly ridiculous. When we first built the Flight Club tech, a number that huge wasn’t even on our radar. We never imagined we’d see the Dartometer get there. Reaching a billion darts is honestly mind-blowing, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey. Opening Flight Club Reading this Friday, just as we approach this incredible milestone, feels like the perfect way to kick off our next chapter of growth.”
