Fluid plans Tyneside private club

hood-street-clubFluid Group is to open a new venue on Tyneside that aims to emulate the exclusive private drinking clubs of London and New York.

The bar operator promises that Hood Street Club in Newcastle upon Tyne will “offer a unique experience in stylish surroundings” unlike any other venue in the north-east.

Set to open in September, it has been inspired by the “secret drinking dens which are massively popular in capital cities around the world, renowned for their elegant surroundings and superb service”.

The club, in the former site of Bar 42 in Hood Street, has been created after a significant but undisclosed investment by Fluid Group which runs a number of sites including Barluga Newcastle, Barluga Morpeth and Perdu in Newcastle.

Visitors will be able to book one of a number of private booths for their exclusive use, with the club also offering a VIP area and an outside terrace. It will have a strict door policy and allow entry only to people who meet the club’s criteria.

Hood Street Club will initially be open Thursday to Saturday evenings from 8pm to 3am, with a DJ playing music suited to the audience.

“There is nothing else in Newcastle like Hood Street Club,” said Fluid Group director David King. “What we are going to offer is unrivalled service and an experience which discerning adults will enjoy, people who want a night out in luxurious surroundings and who want to be looked after.

“We’ve looked at these clubs in other parts of the world and we think Newcastle is long overdue for somewhere really sophisticated that appeals to grown-ups with style.”

The club’s website will go live at www.hoodstreetclub.co.uk.
