Free training video to help bars make more of sport

A free training video has been created for pubs and bars by sports app MatchPint and training specialist CPL Online to help them make the most of the new sports season.

The video highlights the potential value of sport and how to make the most of the opportunity it provides, from football to rugby, NFL and boxing.

It outlines three key ways to maximise the return on investment and related tips on building a reputation, broadening the range of content, and being proactive through online marketing.

The initiative is supported by preliminary findings from research by CGA Strategy and MatchPint that has found that sport can be worth an estimated £80,000 to a pub each year.

CPL Animate, part of CPL Online, produced the three-minute animation video based on feedback from MatchPint customers, data from CGA Strategy, and search behaviour on sports fans on MatchPint’s app and website last season. It is available at

“Some of the stats are really interesting, such as the Super Bowl being worth up to £1,000, or that 6 Nations matches average twice as many searches as Premier League football.
