Freixenet launches new cava for serving over ice


Freixenet Ice Cava

A new cava blend is being launched by leading producer Freixenet for summer, designed for enjoying over ice.

The new Ice Cava is made using the traditional method with a premium grape blend to create a sparkling wine that is refreshing and bursting with aromas of peaches, flowers and nuances of tropical fruits.

Developed and blended by master winemakers, it uses Macabeo, Xarel.lo and Parellada grape varieties and a touch of Chardonnay to create the powerful aromas and an “icy freshness” with a profile that is creamy and sweet on the palate, with a long finish.

It is designed for pouring over ice, ideally garnished with mint leaves or a twist of lime, but is also recommended for summer cocktails, such as mixing 150ml of Cava Ice with 150ml of St-Germain elderflower liqueur over ice, garnished with two cucumber ribbons.

Another recommendation is the Perfect Serve Ginger, combining peach liqueur, strips of ginger and a slice of grapefruit with Ice Cava for an elegant and refreshing summer mixed drink.
