Easy-to-cook taquitos have been introduced by Funnybones Foodservice to expand its range of American and Tex-Mex foods.
Suitable for appetisers, starters or sharing platters, the snacks are rolled up crispy flour tortilla with different fillings, based on an authentic Mexican dish.
The two new products are the Chicken and Nopal (cactus) Salsa Taquito, filled with diced chicken, black beans and melted cheese, and the Veggie and Habanero Salsa Taquito with spinach, red pepper and sweet corn.
Both are pre-flash-fried. Once defrosted, they can be cooked in the oven for six to eight minutes at 200C, deep-fried for four to five minutes at 180C or heated through in an 1800w microwave in four to five minutes.
They are best served with a refreshing salsa, guacamole or sour cream.
