GB World Class winner to run pop-up in New York City

Aidan Bowie

Aidan Bowie is to provide a taste of British bartending for one night only in New York City as part of his role as GB World Class Bartender of the Year.

He will run a World Class pop-up at Llama Inn in Williamsburg in Brooklyn on August 3, providing four bespoke serves using brands from the Diageo Reserve portfolio.

They will feature Don Julio Blanco, Tanqueray No Ten, Bulleit whiskey and Ron Zacapa, paired with Llama Inn’s food menu which incorporates fresh, vibrant Peruvian flavours.

Aidan (pictured), who works at Dandelyan at the Mondrian London hotel, was crowned Diageo Reserve’s GB World Class Bartender of the Year in June after coming top in three days of challenges alongside 10 other bartenders.

He said: “I am so excited to have been given the opportunity to partner with Llama Inn for this exclusive one-night pop-up. Since the GB World Class final, I have been doing everything I can to prepare for September’s global final in Miami, including a pretty intense boot camp for all winners from Western Europe.”

Aidan was also in New Orleans last week for the Tales of the Cocktail festival where he joined Ryan Chetiyawardana and Iain Griffiths to collect Dandelyan’s award for world’s best cocktail menu at the Spirited Awards.

Aidan added: “As I was en route across the pond for Tales of the Cocktail anyway, it was the perfect opportunity to explore cocktail culture and drinking trends in this amazing market – and search out inspiration for my World Class global final serves and challenges.”
