Grey Goose creates ‘urban mountain lodge’ with rooftop bar

Warming winter drinks made with Grey Goose vodka are to be served as part of a transformation of a hotel rooftop bar to re-create the feel of an “urban mountain lodge”.

Grey Goose has developed the temporary new look for the Radio bar at ME London in Aldwych, London, with The One Group, the hospitality company that runs the hotel’s bars and restaurants.

Until March, a large snow-capped mountainscape covers the bar’s interior walls while the frontage of the bar has been lined with subtle washed-wood-texture panelling to create the atmosphere of a contemporary ski chalet.

Outside on the terrace, the bar’s three cabanas – which accommodate up to 10 guests each – have been turned into après-ski cabins (pictured). Each has been clad in white-washed pine and furnished with a selection of cosy Grey Goose-branded throws, cushions and blankets to keep guests warm.

The drinks list has been created by Grey Goose global brand ambassador Joe McCanta alongside Radio’s head bartender Shem Gordon.

The hot serves are Cabin Fever, made with Grey Goose L’Orange, Chambord, Drambuie, red wine and fresh berries, and Snow Fight, combining Grey Goose vodka with apple juice, mint, lemon thyme, orange and cinnamon.

The winter-inspired cold serves include Snow Peak, using Grey Goose La Poire, Grey Goose L’Orange, orgeat and cranberry juice, and the Écosse Sour, made with Grey Goose L’Orange, Drambuie, honey, egg white and Bowmore whisky.

The Picardie Garden combines Grey Goose Le Citron with peach, mint, blackberry and cucumber, and the Pear-suasion contains Grey Goose La Poire, apple, pear, chestnut, and cardamom.

The wintery twist on a Vodka Martini is the Mountain Martini using Grey Goose with pine-infused vermouth and mandarin.

Radio is also offering the Grey Goose bottle-to-table Night Vision experience, where guests can order the illuminated Grey Goose LED bottle.

Jon Yantin, commercial director of The One Group, said: “Working closely with partners is a key focus for us and our collaboration with Grey Goose is a great example of how such partnerships can create unique experiences for our guests, and maximise sales opportunities for both the venue and supplier – particularly during such a crucial trading period.”

The One Group is also partnering Australian wine brand Penfolds in all of its outlets at ME London, from Radio and the restaurants STK and Cucina Asellina to the Marconi Lounge bar which has been rebranded as The Wine Lounge by Penfolds.

“These collaborations add enormous value by further differentiating what we do from our competitors,” Jon added.
