Instead of avoiding the pub in January, customers are being encouraged to visit their local and try out the low and no alcohol options.
To support pubs and bars during this usually quiet time, Club Soda has pulled together a free Pub Resources Pack www.clubsodaguide.com/category/pub-resources which challenges people to ditch staying at home and take part in a Mindful Pub Crawl instead. The guide includes tips on how licensees can improve their no and low alcohol offering and provides promotional ideas on how to attract new customers including free-to-use social media content.
Club Soda co-founder, Laura Willoughby MBE, said: “We created the Club Soda Guide to help everyone discover good places for mindful drinkers. We are so convinced you can go to the pub and stay healthy that we are challenging people to use the guide, do a mindful pub crawl, and review the best places. We will even send them a free mindful pub crawl kit packed full of pub games and drink ideas to get them started.”
A Mindful Pub Crawl is a pub crawl with a difference. Instead of ignoring the pub in January, customers will be encouraged via Club Soda’s publicity campaign, to visit their local and try out the low and no alcohol options, sample drinks that support their health goals and discover the pub is a great place to be, sober or not.
The Club Soda Guide is a guide listing good places for mindful drinkers and is being launched with the help of 200 pubs and bars in Hackney and the City of London. Each venue has answered questions about their range of low and no alcohol drinks to receive a score out of five. For venues with a low score, tips are provided on how to improve their selection of drinks, with case studies from great venues.
Club Soda will also be asking pub and bar customers to review establishments based on the visibility and range of drinks, from alcohol-free beers or creative mocktails to craft sodas and hot drinks, as well as customer service. Those using the Club Soda Guide to plan a night out can then see the reviews and Club Soda will be announcing winning venues based on customer reviews in February 2017.
