Hakkasan to unveil new bar concept on Mykonos

Hakkasan Group is to launch a new bar concept, Ling Ling, on Mykonos this week and bring a taste of the new food and cocktail experience to its venues in London and internationally.

It is to unveil Ling Ling in Mykonos old town (pictured) on July 1, describing it as “a dynamic, social experience perfect for island living and late-night revelry”. It will have an open-air restaurant and bar, private dining and a lounge.

Inspired by Japan’s izakaya lounge bars that serve food alongside drinks, the new concept promises a different approach to Hakkasan’s Cantonese-style cuisine, reinventing smaller plates for sharing.

To accompany the food, the new Mykonos bar will offer a range of summer cocktails such as a drink called a Ling Ling Collins plus a wine list from its award-winning bar team in London.

The sound design is being mastered by Hakkasan London resident Pathaan, bringing eclectic, high-energy beats to the island and its late-night party scene.

Ling Ling is the third opening in Mykonos old town this summer by companies operating in London after the launch of an outpost for Toy Room, which launched in Mayfair in November, and a new site for club Bonbonniere, which opened in November off Oxford Street.

In celebration of the opening of Ling Ling, Hakkasan restaurants around the world will be featuring a taste of Ling Ling with a limited-edition menu and signature cocktail throughout the summer months.

Each location, including Hakkasan in Hanway Place and Mayfair in London, will vary its Ling Ling offering with a slightly different twist tailored to each city.

Hakkasan first experimented with a concept called Ling Ling at its Hanway Place restaurant three years ago. It has also used the name for its nightclub Ling Ling Lounge in Las Vegas.
