A range of hot Dutch snacks has been introduced into the UK on-trade by leading supplier Haywood Drinks & Snacks.
Created in the Netherlands by ART Foods, they comprise three products that can all be cooked in minutes for serving as bar snacks, a starter dish or as part of a tapas-style menu.
The deep-fried Dunkaballs have a crunchy crumb exterior and a creamy filling of beef and herbs, while Krokets are essentially a larger version that can be served in baps or with a sauce such as American mustard or garlic mayonnaise.
The third product in the range is Gouda Cheese Bites which are creamy Dutch Gouda cheese in bread crumbs that can be baked in the oven or deep fried. Offering an alternative to breaded camembert or mozzarella sticks, they could be served with sweet chilli sauce or a red onion marmalade.
Fraser Henderson, managing director of Haywoods Drinks & Snacks, said: “We are delighted to be able to add these hot Dutch snacks to our extensive range of pub and bar supplies.
“They offer something so different into the industry and are as delicious as they are unique. The great thing is that they are ready only in a few minutes so can be prepared on demand, offer great margins and set publicans ahead of competitors by going that little bit further in offering something new.”
