UK-based drinks importer Heathwick has acquired Foolproof Brewing Co’s range of canned craft beers from Rhode Island, America.
The East Coast craft brewery produces limited production seasonal and speciality brews, naming the beers after experiences or common drinking contexts for which each drink is intended.
The four-strong range comprises Foolproof Backyahd IPA, a 6% ABV “aggressively hopped” American IPA; Foolproof Barstool American Golden Ale (4.5% ABV), which is handcrafted from two-row barley, specialty malts and a blend of English and Czech hops; and Foolproof Raincloud Robust Porter, a 6.5% ABV rich porter brewed with chocolate, crystal malts and a subtle blend of European hops.
Making up the collection is Foolproof La Ferme Urbaine Farmhouse Ale. At a higher ABV of 7.8%, the ale, which is influenced by the Belgian saison style, features a blend of German hops, pilsener and pale malts, wheat, rye, oats and spelt.
Nick Garrison, president and founder of Foolproof Brewing Company, said: “We are ecstatic to introduce Foolproof’s brews to beer lovers across the UK and fortunate to be partnering with such a reputable and knowledgeable importer, Heathwick Ltd.
“The UK has a proud beer culture deeply steeped in history and tradition, and Foolproof looks forward to showcasing the bold flavours, ingenuity, and creativity of our craft beers to the UK market.”
Graham Richardson, general manager at Heathwick, added: “Consumers are more adventurous than ever before and want to try new and exciting beers that offer a genuine point of difference.
“We believe that Foolproof’s experience-based drinking occasions will fulfil this criteria and the UK beer drinker will welcome a new imported entrant.
“From the trade perspective, we will be supplying high quality American craft beer competitively priced with comparable UK styles.”
