Hotel group plans activities for ‘cocktail month’

Novotel Royale cocktailHotel group Novotel is running promotions as part of a strategic alliance with London Cocktail Week, tying in with its own “Cocktail Month” activities across the UK.

It will be installing a prize wheel outside The Diner restaurant in Neal Street in Seven Dials, Covent Garden, throughout the festival from October 7 to 13 – the main area of London Cocktail Week.

With a base shaped like a cocktail glass, the “Spin the Parasol” competition wheel will feature prizes such as free cocktails, three-course dinners and an entry to win a European city break. The game will also be available to play online.

Novotel, which operates 10 hotels in the capital, will introduce a new signature cocktail, the Novotel Royale (pictured), in time for London Cocktail Week. It is a mix of 25ml of Tanqueray gin, 25ml of St-Germain elderflower liqueur, 15ml of lemon juice and 10ml of sugar syrup, shaken hard and strained into a copa glass or Martini glass and then finished off with prosecco or champagne and garnished with mint leaves.

The light green mocktail is a blend of St-Germain elderflower liqueur, lemon juice and sugar syrup which is shaken, strained and then topped up with soda.

The Novotel Royale will form part of a new drinks menu, called Cocktail Company, which will be available in all 31 Novotels in the UK to tie in with Novotel’s own promotional “Cocktail Month”.

The group is also running the Perfect Mix offer which provides guests with a 15% bedroom rate reduction, late checkout and a free cocktail or mocktail with shaker.

During London Cocktail Week, guests at its London hotels will also receive the official London Cocktail Week wristband which entitles them to £4 cocktails at participating bars. The Perfect Mix offer applies to stays from October 7 to 31.

Guillaume Dancer, vice-president for marketing at Novotel UK, said: “As Novotel has a strong presence in the capital we wanted to support London Cocktail Week.

“It also marks the beginning of Cocktail Month for all our hotels and signals the new more relaxed and playful image for the brand. We are working on new concepts for the common spaces in Novotel which we will unveil in 2014.”
