London bar group Grand Union is already seeing benefits to its business weeks after revamping its website.
The new site at www.grandunionbars.com has made it quicker to make bookings and optimised its usability on mobile phones – an increasingly important factor for bars, pubs and clubs.
It also has enhanced content and offers quick and easy access to information about the Grand Union’s locations, events and menus.
The new look takes inspiration from music, developed with The Creative Corporation, a music-focused digital studio that has worked with Universal, Warner Music and independent labels for artists including London Grammar, Ed Sheeran and David Gilmour.
Launched in July, the website has already seen an 18% increase in traffic, increased online interaction and a higher rate of conversion to sales and bookings.
Grand Union chief executive Adam Marshall said: “I never fall off my chair but have recently just picked myself up. I’m very proud of it and think it represents Grand Union to the core.”
It is part of the company’s ambitions to grow both online and offline as part of its wider social strategy.
Founded in 2006, Grand Union comprises eight bars across London, backed by hospitality entrepreneur Luke Johnson since 2013.
