Irish whiskey summer cocktail ideas from Roe & Co


Roe Co Peaches & Cream

A new range of perfect serves for the summer have been developed by Diageo Reserve for its premium Irish whiskey Roe & Co.

Designed to help operators capitalise on Irish whiskey over the summer months, the suggestions are also intended to highlight the versatility of the spirit.

They were developed by European brand ambassador Peter O’Connor and Diageo Reserve GB whisky ambassador Ali Reynolds – an award-winning bartender – with some of the Irish bartenders who helped to develop the blend, including Kenneth Herlihy and Anna Walsh.

Crafted to highlight and showcase Irish whiskey, the drinks also celebrate the fresh flavour of summer with light mixers and ingredients to complement the blend.

Peter said: “Summer is such an inspiring time for bartenders as consumers relish the opportunity to get out and enjoy the warmer weather, meet with friends and family and enjoy quality, memorable experiences in the on-trade.

“The new summer drinks from Roe & Co have been specifically chosen to work across lots of different types of pubs and bars.

Peaches & Cream (pictured top)
50ml Roe & Co
30ml Peach puree
25ml Lemon juice
1 barspoon Lavender-infused honey
25ml Egg white
Chocolate pinch
Shaken and served in a Nick & Nora glass. Garnish with bee pollen, bitters and a cut flower.

Roe & Co Tower

The Tower (pictured above)
50ml Roe & Co
15ml Spiced pear shrub
20ml Lemon juice
Soda water top
Bitters
Build ingredients in a long glass or a Roe & Co copper vessel and garnish with dehydrated pears.

Roe & Co Sour

Roe Sour (pictured above)
50ml Roe & Co
30ml Lemon juice
5ml Sugar syrup
Egg white
Dry shake all ingredients. Once shaken dry, fill shaker with ice and shake again. Strain into a stemmed glass without ice or over cubed ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Roe Fancy Co

The Fancy Co (pictured above)
20ml Roe & Co
10ml Pear liqueur
50ml Champagne Brut
2 drops of absinthe
Dash of spiced gomme
Build in a champagne flute and serve aromatised with edible pear perfume.
