The owners of the UK’s first Italian craft beer pub are raising investment via crowdfunding to allow them to expand the business and open a second site.
After opening The Italian Job in Chiswick in south-west London, they aim to raise £350,000 through Crowdcube, offering members of the public the chance to become shareholders and have a stake in 17.5% of the company.
The investment will be used to take over the lease of a new site with a late licence, ideally somewhere in east London. They want it to have room for 80 covers and the ability to accommodate more than 100 people at peak times.
The Italian Job was opened in February last year by a team headed by CEO Giuseppe Verdoni and is backed by leading Italian craft brewery Birrificio del Ducato. The founders include Marco Pucciotti, a Rome-based bar and restaurant operator.
It offers a choice of 12 rotating beers on draught and a diverse bottled beer selection as well as wine, spirits and a range of Italian street food and specialties.
Giuseppe and his team hope to open their new site by the summer.
