Italian craft beer range introduced in UK through World Beers

Birradamare Na Biretta Chiara

Award-winning craft beers from Italian brewery Birradamare are being introduced in the UK through speciality importer World Beers.

The range is debuting with two beers, both in 33cl bottles: Na Biretta Chiara, inspired by Czech pils, and Dammenipa, based on English IPAs.

World Beers has already gained a listing for the craft lager in more than 200 Prezzo restaurants across the UK.

Peter Karsten, managing director at World Beers, said: “The artisanal brewing going on in Italy is incredible at present and for me Birradamare are top of the pile. Simply put, these beers are Italian masterpieces. Beautifully packaged, brewed with the finest, often home-grown ingredients, plus time, skill, patience and a lot of creativity – these beers really are the complete package.

“It’s been a great start for the brand after becoming Prezzo’s craft beer of choice and we look forward to working with them and the wider on-trade in driving further brand awareness, trial and growth.”

Na Biretta Chiara at 4.9% ABV is a perfectly balanced lager, offering a full taste, subtle hop aromas and bitterness plus a crisp, clean taste inspired by Czech pils.

Dammenipa is a beautifully balanced Italian pale ale is beautifully balanced. It is a bit more session-able at 5% ABV but still offers a feisty, floral and fruit-filled nose and a positive tenor of bitterness, balanced by malted tones.

Birradamare brewery was set up in Ostia on the coast outside Rome in 2004 by two friends and beer lovers Elio Miceli and Massimo Salvatori. With the help of master brewer Ioan Bratuleanu, the brewery has moved to a bigger site and grows its own barley to ensure the best taste quality. The brewery now produces over 17 beers which are sold throughout Italy, the rest of Europe, Australia, Japan and the USA.

The Birradamare range joins the likes of Lion, Amazon, Lazy Mutt, Huber, DAB and low-alcohol brand Clausthaler in the World Beers stable.
