A permanent new prosecco bar is to be opened this week in Bristol by Italian sparkling wine brand Scavi & Ray.

It is being built at The Mall shopping complex at Cribbs Causeway and will offer a range of Scavi & Ray’s wines plus sparkling cocktails, Italian artisanal food, sweet treats and a unique blend of Scavi & Ray coffee.

The bar will sell wines for enjoying at the bar or to take home. They will include the crisp, dry, fine Scavi & Ray Spumante and Scavi & Ray Rosato, a fresh rosé with a delicate and fruity aroma.

The bar has been created through a deal with Intu Experiences which operates the out-of-town shopping mall north of Bristol with M&G Real Estate. It has been designed by Studio Tait.

Paul Ferguson, operations director at the wines’ UK distributor Proof Drinks, said: “The Scavi & Ray brand has increased in popularity in its short time in the UK consumer market and is becoming a sought-after ‘brand’ in the prosecco category, something that so far hasn’t existed.

“Scavi & Ray had set itself one goal to be the number-one premium prosecco brand. With the opening of the first Scavi & Ray Prosecco bar, it is truly cementing that status.

“At the Scavi & Ray Prosecco bar, we are not only offering customers the opportunity to taste our Scavi & Ray products, but to enjoy the Scavi & Ray experience as a whole, where the décor, surroundings, products and service will emanate the premium nature of the brand.”

Scavi & Ray Prosecco has been available in the UK since 2015 via Proof Drinks, establishing itself in the premium bar and hotel sector nationwide as well as sponsoring high-profile events such as London Fashion Week and London Fashion Weekend for five consecutive seasons.

Colin Flinn, regional director at Intu, added: “The Mall is one of the UK’s leading shopping destinations with a diverse mix of retail and leisure, and we are sure Scavi & Ray’s Prosecco bar will be a success among our shoppers.”

The bar will be in the Central Atrium of the Upper Mall and is due to open to the public on Wednesday (June 22).
