UPDATE WEDNESDAY AUGUST 23, 2017: World Class GB winner Jamie Jones has now been announced as one of only 10 bartenders to reach the next stage of the global final in Mexico.

Jamie Jones, the GB champion in Diageo Reserve’s World Class competition, has joined bartenders from around the world in Mexico for the global final.

He will then be back behind the bar for the Mex-Eco challenge where he will look at Great Britain’s environmental issues to create a concept, presentation and serve that showcase the positive effect his version of cocktail culture has on the world around him. This will be streamed live at https://www.facebook.com/WorldClassUnitedKingdom/ at 8.40pm GMT.

2This is the ninth year we’ve run this competition and, if the past eight years are anything to go by, we’re set for a week of some of the most incredible cocktail making, all within one of the most vibrant cities in the world – Mexico City.

“The cocktail revolution is booming and these bartenders are leading the way. Expect to see the pinnacle of bartending creations and new trends which will set the cocktail agenda for months and years to come.”
