Award-winning craft spirits producer JJ Whitley is launching a new violet gin to coincide with World Gin Day on June 9.
The latest release has been created with a blend of eight botanicals, including juniper, angelica root, coriander and liquorice, all complemented by a natural burst of flavour from the quintessentially English country garden flower – the violet.
It has an elegant light-purple hue, providing great impact on the shelf and in the glass. The new flavour also boasts a prominent new label design to celebrate the rich distilling heritage of JJ Whitley.
JJ Whitley’s new violet gin will complement the brand’s existing range of spirits, which includes three gins, JJ Whitley Elderflower Gin, Nettle Gin and London Dry Gin, and two vodkas, JJ Whitley Rhubarb Vodka and Potato Vodka.
Bottled at 38.6% ABV, the new 70cl expression is available in the on-trade at Greene King, Marstons, Mitchells & Butlers and Wetherspoons.
Adam Georgiou, brand manager for JJ Whitley at Halewood Wines & Spirits, said: “Halewood specialises in artisanal craft spirits and has the ability to respond quickly to the fast-changing needs of its customers. As such, to meet consumer demand following the craze for pink gin, there was a desire to bring a distinctive new violet gin to market in time for the summer months. We of course obliged.
“With a heritage in launching unique flavours, JJ Whitley is positioned perfectly to capitalise on this sought-after expression.”
