Jones Bar Group to open Roxy Ball Room in Huddersfield

Roxy Ball Room

The Jones Bar Group is building on the success of its Roxy Ball Room bars in Leeds and Liverpool with a new site in Huddersfield.

Due to launch at the end of May in the former Picture House site in Zetland Street, the brand is a combination of ping pong, pool, pizza and cocktails.

Similar to the first two sites, it will have a cool, contemporary interior that takes inspiration from the US, with smatterings of graffiti and exposed brick and piping, complementing the lively but laidback ambience.

It will have four custom-wrapped Sam K Steel pool tables, four ping pong tables and a large outdoor terrace.

The kitchen will serve up a menu filled with comfort food classics, from fresh dough pizzas with toppings such as cheesesteak and parma ham to homemade burgers, bar snacks and desserts.

The cocktail menu will blend much-loved classics such as the Long Island Iced Tea and Mojito with an “exciting” range of signature Roxy drinks. These include A Perfect Serve, which combines amaretto with fruit juices and fresh raspberry, while A Right Racket packs a refreshing punch with fresh cucumber, strawberry vodka and ginger beer.

The bar will also offer mocktails and carefully selected draught lagers and ales such as Asahi, Spitfire and Sam Adams.

The Jones Bar Group currently owns 10 bars and restaurants, opening Roxy Ball Room in Leeds in 2013 and in Liverpool in February this year. It opened Roxy Lanes, with a 10-pin bowling alley, in Leeds in 2014.

Managing director Matthew Jones said: “Being Yorkshire born and bred, we visit Huddersfield regularly on a night out and love how vibrant it is. We believe Roxy Ball Room will fit in perfectly and offer something new to the community.”

Huddersfield’s Roxy Ball Room is due to open on Thursday May 26 with a VIP launch. To register to attend, visit the official Roxy Ball Room Huddersfield Facebook page.
