The Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch has partnered with Jose Cuervo tequila to create a pop-up tequila garden for London Cocktail Week.

From October 6 to 12, Cuervo’s Hacienda will transform the atrium space of the hotel lobby into the hacienda courtyard of the Jose Cuervo distillery in Mexico, hosting a tequila tastings for the on-trade as well as a master class for consumers.

Jose Cuervo has invited bartenders to Cuervo’s Hacienda on October 8 to attend a tequila tasting from 1pm to 2pm hosted by Mexican bartender and Jose Cuervo brand ambassador Gabriela Moncada (pictured).

Attendees will get the chance to sample a range of Jose Cuervo’s 13-strong tequila portfolio, including bartender favourite Reserva de la Familia, and will create their own Day of the Dead cocktail, using the herbs, spices and plants from the tequila garden.

Gabriela will also be talking attendees through the new Jose Cuervo seasonal Margaritas – think hints of cinnamon, orange and coffee. She will also present a new autumn serve, The Cuervo Tradicional Sour, made with Jose Cuervo Tradicional Reposado mixed with fresh fig puree, lemon juice and egg white.

Alongside the tequila tasting, Gabriela will offer insights into the origins of tequila and the history behind the Jose Cuervo brand.

The on-trade tequila tasting at Cuervo’s Hacienda is completely free of charge and includes the tasting, a Margarita and a Margarita kit to take home. Snacks will also be provided.

Those interested in attending the on-trade Tequila Tasting should email with their name and the bar where they work. Places are limited and will be given out on a first come first served basis.

Cuervo’s Hacienda will also host a tequila master class for consumers during London Cocktail Week as well as giving them a chance to sample new seasonal Margaritas.

They will also be able to sample warm tequila toddies such a Mexican Courage, a mix of Jose Cuervo Reposado, cloudy apple juice and lemon juice, infused with cloves and cinnamon.

Cuervo’s Hacienda will offer £4 Day of the Dead cocktails to those wearing London Cocktail Week wristbands.

To round off London Cocktail Week, Cuervo’s Hacienda will host an all-day, all-night closing fiesta on Saturday October 11 with a chance to try new Cuervo cocktails.
