Kornicis supports expansion with board appointment

Michelle HallBar operator Kornicis has appointed Michelle Hall (pictured) to the board in the new role of director of operations as it prepares for further expansion.

She joined the company four years ago as area manager and has supported the development of the business and the opening of new sites.

Over the last three months, she has helped to drive a 9% increase in like-for-like sales at bars in the City and Canary Wharf, with like-for-like sales for November showing a 10% increase.

Kornicis operates Jamies wine bars and bar-restaurants Smollensky’s and Henry J Bean’s as well as other bars around London such as Kamique which opened in Covent Garden in October. Others include The Saint at St Paul’s, Brodie’s in Canary Wharf, Willy’s and Number 25 in the City, and The Bar in Chelmsford, Essex.

Chief executive Nick Tamblyn said: “I am delighted Michelle has joined the board at this very exciting time for the company as we develop our roll-out strategy for the coming years.

“Her detailed knowledge of the City and our various brands will be a great asset at board level.”
