Kronenbourg 1664 celebrates 350 years with new bottle

kronenbourg 350th Anniversary edition

A special-edition bottle has been unveiled for Kronenbourg 1664 as part of celebrations for the 350th anniversary of the beer’s original brewery.

The bottles have been updated to showcase the heritage and brewing expertise behind the brand with a colour split label of silver and the classic Kronenbourg 1664 blue, emblazoned with the text “Celebrating 350 years of brewing excellence”.

Distributed by Heineken UK, the bottles are available in the UK on-trade from now until December.

The brand’s 350th anniversary will be supported by heavyweight consumer print and online advertising, traditional and digital PR including social media, limited-edition glassware in selected on-trade outlets, an on-trade customer-facing below-the-line competition and consumer events.

It also ties in with the “Hero Farmers” TV advertising featuring Eric Cantona and two shorter videos – “Nun” and “Posterboy” – that have been released online and will be available via video-on-demand and social media.

The history of the French brand began 350 years ago in 1664, when Jerome Hatt created the first batch in central Strasbourg. The modern Kronenbourg 1664 was created in 1852 to celebrate the founder and the provenance of original ingredients, which all came from the Alsace region of France.
