Leeds bar offers Louis XIII prize for millionth cocktail order

Alchemist Trinity Leeds

The Alchemist Bar & Restaurant in Leeds is to celebrate serving its one-millionth cocktail by offering the prize of a bottle of Louis XIII cognac worth £2,000.

After opening in the Trinity Leeds complex in March 2013, the team have calculated that the number of cocktails made by its bartenders is now in the high 900,000s.

The lucky patron who places the one-millionth cocktail order will win the bottle of Rémy Martin Louis XIII cognac – inspired by the cult 1988 film, Cocktail, where a bottle of the luxury cognac is offered as a wager.

Simon Potts, managing director of The Alchemist, said: “Selling one million cocktails is no mean feat, and we felt that it was something that needed celebrating. We know that the cocktail tally is currently in the high 900,000s, so we predict that the millionth one will be sold around mid-month.

“We can’t wait to surprise the lucky customer with the extra-special cognac gift, to share with their friends. They’re destined to be the most popular person in the bar, that’s for sure!”

Running alongside this giveaway is a one-off competition, hosted by Capital FM for The Alchemist Trinity between January 25 and 31. Listeners will have the chance to win dinner and drinks at The Alchemist, and a night’s stay at Malmaison Leeds.
