The owner of Jones Bar Group in Leeds has won a luxury holiday to Mexico in a trade prize draw designed to drive sales of Corona beer.

The competition was run by Bidvest Foodservice to celebrate the addition of AB InBev’s Mexican beer brand to its portfolio.

The prize – a seven-night stay at a five-star all-inclusive resort, with flights included – was won by Matt Jones who will use it for a family break with his fiancé and three-year-old son.

Jones Bar Group was set up in 2004 by Matt with his brother Ben. Its venues, all in Leeds, include 51% Bourbon, Brooklyn Bar, Hirst’s Yard, Roxy Lanes, Roxy Ball Room, Bar 116 & Bistro, Homage2fromage and Slate NQ.

Matt said: “Corona has great appeal to our customers and the competition has been a great success, with us selling a year’s worth of product in just nine weeks. The holiday was a fantastic incentive as it’s a once-in-a-lifetime trip.”

Matt Towe, trade marketing manager for Bidvest Foodservice’s Vivas drinks business, said: “We’re extremely impressed with Matt who has done a fantastic job of bringing a little bit of Mexico to Leeds city centre.”

Martin Cook, general manager of Bidvest Foodservice’s Wakefield depot, added: “Bidvest Foodservice Yorkshire has been proud to support Jones Bar Group in this incentive by delivering service excellence to one of our top independent customers. We’re wishing Matt and his family a fantastic and relaxing holiday.”
