Bars across Leeds are to come together again for a week-long programme of events and promotions celebrating the city’s cocktail culture.
After its success last year, Leeds Loves Cocktails will be back from June 2 to 8, with 25 bars offering discounted cocktails and running interactive demonstrations, seminars and tasting sessions.
Its mission is to promote the finer side of Leeds’ drinking, to teach the art of cocktail making and to supporting the ideology of quality over quantity.
Wristbands will be sold at £4.50 per band, which will entitle holders to priority entry to all events throughout the week, discounts on all priced seminars and the ability to purchase most cocktails across the bars for £4.50 rather than the usual £8 or £9. Wristbands can be bought at any participating bar.
Some of the bars confirmed so far are 51% Bourbon, The Alchemist, Blind Tyger, Call Lane Social, Distrikt, Epernay, Fibre, Jakes, Livin’ Italy, The Maven, Milo, Mojo, Neon Cactus, Norman, Oporto, Oracle, The Pit, Rare, Reform, Sandinista, Sela, Smokestack, Verve and Wax.
There will also be offers, tasters and cocktail sessions at Leeds’ leading spirits and wine shop Latitude Wine Merchants, with industry experts from around the globe.
Each bar will use this week as a platform to showcase their bartending brilliance and will be working with a selection of some of the finest spirit and liqueur brands.
Brands involved include Appleton Estate, Bacardi, Beefeater, Blackwell, Bombay Sapphire, Chivas Regal, Cocchi, El Dorado, El Jimador, Four Roses, Havana Club, Grey Goose, Jagermeister, Konik’s Tail, Jim Beam, Licor 43, Ocho, Old Forester, Patron, Portobello Road, Qui Qui Ri Qui, Reyka, Sipsmith, Tapatio and Wray & Nephew.
