Left Coast Distribution has increased the number of beers from the US Northwest in its UK portfolio by adding 10 new products from Seattle brewery Two Beers.
On draught, Left Coast is importing five beers. EVO IPA at 6.2% ABV is a deep, floral, copper-coloured “Showcase Northwest IPA”, hopped with Yakima Valley Simcoe, Amarillo and Centennial, then aggressively dry-hopped with Simcoe and Columbus.
Trailhead ISA at 4.8% ABV is a crisp, clean, citrussy hybrid, India-Style Session Ale (ISA) featuring a light body with a substantial Yakima Valley Columbus and Palisade dry-hop.
Fresh Hop IPA at 6.2% ABV is a “super seasonal”, featuring the first hops of October’s Yakima Valley hop harvest.
Ginger Peach Kölsch at 4.9% ABV is a bright straw-coloured Kölsch-style beer, offering the traditional clean, bready character with an added burst of ginger and the subtle sweetness of fresh peaches.
Jive Espresso Stout at 7.9% ABV uses Seattle’s locally roasted espresso and oatmeal malt to deliver deep chocolate and toastiness alongside the mellow acidity of Brazilian and Ethiopian espresso.
Fresh Hop IPA is also available in 650ml bottles alongside Pumpkin Spice Ale which, at 5.9% ABV, is a bright, clean and refreshing ale that is a spicy gold medal-winning small-batch brew offering up clove, cinnamon, allspice, ginger, and natural pumpkin.
EVO IPA and Trailhead ISA are also available in 12oz cans alongside Grey Skies Dark Pale Ale, which at 5.5%, ABV, offers a nod to the Northwest’s weather. With a deep mahogany colour, Grey Skies offers aromas of lemon, orange peel and caramel. Bursting with flavours of orange juice and grapefruit, it gives way to hints of peach and subtle toast.
Andy Young, national sales manager for Left Coast, said: “From our initial research of breweries in Washington, Two Beers stood out to me as one that we must bring over.
“From start to finish the emphasis is on quality and that’s evident right down to their packaging. I think we can all agree that ‘life is a little more honest after Two Beers’.”
Left Coast, based in Nottingham, is a specialist in importing beers from California to the UK but last year extended its portfolio to include breweries in Washington.
Two Beers was founded in 2007 and has grown from 100 to 6,000 barrels per year, producing 12 unique brews. Its beers can only be found in the US states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska and Michigan as well as Canada, Japan and now the UK.
Head brewer Joel VandenBrink noted: “Two Beers have a strong love for the Pacific Northwest and all things outdoors. Our beers pay tribute to those experiences.”
