Connor Bloomfield (pictured) from Aloha in Liverpool has been confirmed as winner of the title of the Nation’s Favourite Bartender after a poll run for Sailor Jerry rum.

More than 16,000 people voted for bartenders across the country throughout the activity which ran from June 18 to August 31. The winner has only now been announced via the competition’s website.

Bartenders were nominated for the accolade and then campaigned for people to vote for them via the website. Connor, aged 24, scooped the title after shooting up the league table in the last two days with a total of 3,815 votes.

Connor said: “A massive, massive thank you to the Liverpool bar scene, friends, family, everyone who voted for me and the people who ran around helping to promote me. I wouldn’t have won without them.”

In second and third place were Gemma Proctor of The Brass Monkey in Hastings, East Sussex, and Jolene Cadwell from Flipside Cocktail Club in Bristol.

The search for the Nation’s Favourite Bartender was run by Sailor Jerry’s brand team alongside a campaign calling for the UK to have an official Bartender Appreciation Day (BAD) in line with other countries.

Connor will be rewarded with a trip to Austin, Texas, including a visit to the South By Southwest film and music festival in March which will feature the Sailor Jerry House pop-up space.

He has also won a Sailor Jerry Presents party for himself and his friends and supporters in Liverpool. The top 20 bartenders also received a limited-edition Sailor Jerry cocktail kit.
