London bar retains top spot in World’s 50 Best Bars

Artesian

Artesian at London’s Langham hotel has retained its title of the world’s best bar for a fourth year running in the annual ranking of the World’s 50 Best Bars.

Pictured above, it was one of nine UK bars – all in London – in the top 50, coming out just ahead of New York City, based on independent voting by 412 industry professionals in 53 countries.

At a ceremony in Spitalfields to tie in with London Cocktail Week last night, it was revealed that half the top 10 bars were in London, with the Nightjar remaining in third place, The American Bar at The Savoy in fifth, Happiness Forgets at eight and the Connaught Bar at nine.

The Mr Lyan team, led by Ryan Chetiyawardana, took the 26th spot with White Lyan and the 50th slot with Dandelyan at the Mondrian Hotel. The Savoy’s Beaufort Bar was at 27 while 69 Colebrooke Row was at 41.

As in 2014, The Dead Rabbit Grocery & Grog in New York City was in second place in the ranking which is run by Drinks International.
