London hotel bar twists a classic for US Thanksgiving

Bar 45 at luxury hotel 45 Park Lane is celebrating US Thanksgiving this month with an American twist on a classic Negroni.

Bartender Tom Morris has created the Black Friday Thanksgiving cocktail – named after the Friday after Thanksgiving when American shops are busy with the first wave of Christmas shoppers.

The cocktail is composed of Campari, sweet vermouth and gin, and infused with cloves, star anise and cinnamon, stored in a vintage American oak barrel imported from the US. It has been aged for four weeks to create a deeper festive and spiced flavour.

The cocktail is priced at £16 and is available throughout November, including Thanksgiving which this year falls on November 27.

The hotel, part of Dorchester Collection, is also home to Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant Cut which is well known as a place for celebrating Thanksgiving.
