London microdistillery unveils addition to Our/Vodka family

Our London vodka

London’s first dedicated vodka distillery has unveiled Our/London – the fifth vodka in a family of brands being created around the world.

At a microdistillery in Hackney, entrepreneurs Clive Watson and Neil Chivers have created a smooth, fresh vodka with fruity notes and a natural sweetness, with ABV of 37.5%.

Packaged in a simple 350ml bottle sealed with a crown cap, it intends to challenge the way vodka is perceived “with no pomp and show but with genuine local passion and personality”.

It is the fifth member of Our/Vodka, a global family built by partners in cities around the world in a project initiated by spirits group Pernod Ricard.

Our/Vodka is the brainchild of Åsa Caap and four entrepreneurs from Great Works in Sweden. Each vodka looks the same but each city gives its name and distinct character to the vodka.

In every city, Our/Vodka is produced, blended and hand bottled in its respective microdistillery following the same global recipe but using different ingredients that give each vodka its own, unique flavour profile. The local partners give the brand in each city their own stamp and character.

Our/Vodka has already successfully launched in Berlin, Amsterdam, Detroit and Seattle. After London, Our/Vodka is set to launch in Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Houston.

Clive is a well-known figure in the bar industry having co-founded Village London which operates The Riding House Café, Village East and The Garrison in the capital. His latest ventures include all-day brasserie Blixen in Spitalfields.

Neil is operations director for PR agency LD Communications which looks after the Q Awards, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and many festivals.

He said: “Launching Our/London is an exciting step for both Clive and I, giving us the chance to work and collaborate with creative people and interesting brands in the city that we love.

“As well as a vodka-producing microdistillery, we have a fantastic tasting room and event space and are open to partnerships with up-and-coming chefs, artists and musicians as well as local enterprise.”

Åsa added: “We are thrilled to welcome Our/London to our family. Neil and Clive are true entrepreneurs with strong local roots and they make a great addition to our team.”

Available now, the 350ml bottle has a recommended price in retail of £19.

The distillery in Spurstowe Road is open for visits from midday to 6pm Monday to Friday, and for tours and visits outside hours by appointment. Details at
