UK distributor Love Drinks has added two limited edition Swedish gins from craft distillery Hernö to its portfolio.
The two new lines which have launched in the UK include Hernö Sipping Gin #1.3 ex-Ardbeg Casks and Hernö Blackcurrant Gin.
Hernö Sipping Gin #1.3 ex-Ardbeg Casks is a smoky 49.1% ABV gin that has been matured in casks previously used by Ardbeg scotch whisky.
Recommended sipped straight or over ice, the gin offers notes of sweet fruits, toffee and vanilla on the nose, while juniper comes to the forefront on the palate, accompanied by peat, toffee and pear, followed by a long smoky finish.
The second expression, Hernö Blackcurrant Gin (28% ABV), is infused with ripe blackcurrant berries which have matured for a couple of days, before being pressed and sweetened.
On the nose, the gin has notes of bright, crisp blackcurrant with jammy tartness and a soft floral sweetness, while the palate offers juniper up front followed by bold blackcurrant and a hint of green notes of the leaf.
Hernö Blackcurrant Gin is suggested served in a French 75 cocktail, which mixes the gin with champagne, lemon juice and sugar syrup.
