Love Drinks seeks PR and communications manager

love drinks logoLove Drinks, a specialist in developing and distributing boutique drinks brands, is recruiting for an experienced PR and communications manager to raise awareness of its portfolio.

Based in Clapham in south London, it imports, distributes and markets a portfolio of premium spirit, liqueur and craft beer brands in the UK, selling both to the on- and off-trade.

It represents Abelha Organic Cachaça, The Bitter Truth cocktail bitters and liqueurs, Einstök Icelandic craft beers, El Dorado Demerara rums, Gosling’s Black Seal rums, Grasovka bison grass vodka, Hayman’s gins, Jefferson’s bourbons and Underberg herbal digestive.

Founder Kirsty Loveday said: “Our team is compact but growing, and we are looking to add a full-time PR and communications manager to help support and sustain the impressive growth of our brands.”

The role focuses on raising the awareness of Love Drinks’ boutique portfolio of brands within the food, drink and style sector of the media. It involves engaging with the social media platform to grow and communicate with Love Drinks’ followers and devising campaigns and ideas to drive the consumer to action.

Love Drinks has ambitions to grow all of its communication platforms exponentially in 2014. “We are looking for an individual who can develop innovative ideas on how we can achieve this,” Kirsty said. “This is an amazing opportunity for the right individual to carve out a long-term career in a very exciting and growing company.”

Key Responsibilities
• Writing press releases, driving press campaigns and planning communication strategies
• Developing relationships with trade and consumer food, drink and lifestyle editors and journalists
• Manage the direct email database and communications
• Communicating with and coordinating the team regarding marketing activity plans
• Website administration
• Managing social media and other relevant on-line marketing campaigns
• Coordinating monthly reports for all brands outlining PR and sales team successes
• Developing sophisticated and original PR campaigns on limited budgets
• Assist with new brands by conducting research and looking at competitor analysis/activity in the market place
• Develop systems and processes to effectively and proactively communicate activity and PR successes with the wider team
• Organise and participate in PR events
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with journalists
• Contribute to the annual brand plan

The ideal candidate will also display the following traits:
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a PR role in-house or at an agency
• Always looks for opportunities to improve and to do things better by continuously suggesting improvements to internal processes
• Introduces best practices to encourage others to learn from successes
• Is willing to learn from mistakes and strives to do better next time. Sees setbacks as a challenge and a learning opportunity and not a failure

Salary and role details
• Full time 40 hours p/w
• Remuneration depending on skills and experience
• Office based with some travelling required
• Travel expenses, phone and laptop
• Company bonus structure
