Low-calorie cocktails introduced at London terrace bar

A Skinny Passion Fruit Martini (pictured) is among a new menu of low-calorie cocktails added at the Icon Balcony Bar and Terrace above the Casino at The Empire in London’s Leicester Square.

Other “skinny” cocktails include a Mimosa Lite, made by adding prosecco to the orange juice along with an orange garnish, and a Pina Colada Cooler combining a double measure of dark rum, pineapple juice, coconut cream and soda.

Its Pimm’s Cup mixes Pimm’s with elderflower cordial, ginger ale and soda, garnished with lemon and cucumber. Other cocktails made to lower-calorie recipes include a Skinny Mojito and a Moscow Mule.

The cocktails, all priced at £7.50 except for the Mimosa at £8.50, are served in the balcony bar Monday to Friday from 5pm to late and on Saturday and Sunday from 6pm to late.

Icon Balcony Bar has a plush interior of sparkling chandeliers, antique wallpaper and exposed brickwork, reminiscent of a French boudoir. Cosy red velvet seating comfortably holds 80 while a central doorway opens out onto the terrace area with views of the square below.
