Luminar invests £300,000 in creating new Cameo

The Luminar Group is investing £300,000 in converting a club in Guildford, Surrey, into a “luxurious, aspirational” new nightclub.

The former Dusk in North Street is to be relaunched as Cameo on August 16, aimed at the over-21s and creating 35 new jobs. Luminar also operates Cameo clubs in Bournemouth in Dorset and Eastbourne in East Sussex (pictured).

The total refurbishment of the Guildford site will include the creation of a stylish new dance room, six pre-bookable private booths, a women’s pamper area and VIP booths which it says will add “glamour and opulence” to the region’s nightclub scene.

Luminar’s chief financial officer Russell Margerrison said: “The refurbishment is part of our ongoing investment strategy, which continues to deliver consistent returns.

“When it launches, Cameo will provide a unique clubbing experience, with stylish interiors and superior quality sound systems complemented by high service standards, which will appeal to discerning customers.”

Luminar is the UK’s largest nightclub operator with 53 venues across the UK, employing more than 2,000 people.
