The Luminar Group is to restructure its regional management after sustained investment and growth in its nightclubs around the UK.
From April, it will change the borders of its five regions, previously defined as the north, the Midlands, the south, the south-west, and the east and Scotland.
Instead, it will have one regional team looking after the north and Scotland, covering 10 clubs from Aberdeen to Oldham, and another new team covering the east, taking in 14 clubs from Luton and Ipswich to Ashford in Kent.
The other three regional teams will cover the Midlands, with 13 sites from Wrexham to Cambridge and Norwich, the south-west, with eight sites from Gloucester to Plymouth and Swansea, and the south, with 14 sites from Windsor to Bournemouth and Eastbourne.
Russell Quelch, who was voted general manager of the year in Luminar’s in-house awards in 2014, will be promoted from general manager of Oceana in Southampton to regional director for the south. He is pictured above with Luminar’s chief executive Peter Marks.
He will be joined in April by a new regional director for the north and Scotland, Brett Collier, who was previously an operations manager at Walkabout bars operator Intertain and bar operator Novus Leisure.
As a result of the restructuring, Trevor Ellard, regional director for the south-west, and Mark Molton, regional director for the Midlands, will be leaving the company on March 1.
Peter said: “Following a period of sustained growth, we felt that the time was right to look at the shape of our estate and the experience of our senior team.
“Both Trevor and Mark have made a strong contribution to the business and they leave with our best wishes for the future.
“We’re committed to developing our people from within and it’s great to see Russell’s potential being recognised with this promotion from his current role as general manager of Oceana Southampton.
“We’re also delighted to welcome Brett to the team, who will bring a fresh perspective to the business.”
