Luxury hotel creates pop-up with Bombay Sapphire

A pop-up bar has been created for Bombay Sapphire gin at a top London hotel, celebrating the gin and tonic and the brand’s exotic botanicals.

The Bombay Sapphire Ultimate Gin & Tonic Terrace (pictured) runs until August 29 at luxury hotel Rosewood London in Holborn.

The menu reflects the location where the gin’s 10 botanicals are sourced, with six “twists” on Bombay Sapphire’s “Ultimate Gin & Tonic” serve inspired by the flavours of the Mediterranean, Africa, China and Indonesia.

A bespoke gin and tonic twist has also been created in honour of Rosewood London, called A Sense of Place, which was inspired by the shared locale of Rosewood London and London dry gin, drawing on influences from the 17th and 18th centuries.

The furnishings and design elements of the terrace showcase exclusively commissioned designs by acclaimed illustrator Jonathan Chadwick. The intricate fabric pattern tells the story of the gin’s exotic botanicals and regions of origin.

Bombay Sapphire UK brand manager Annabelle Clarke said: “As well as providing a spectacular setting for the Ultimate Gin & Tonic Terrace, we feel that Rosewood London embodies the significant care, craft and skill which Bombay Sapphire invests in the creation of our gin.

“Delivering beautifully crafted quality in everything they do, the team at Rosewood London have a true passion for curating and sharing the best the world has to offer and we felt this was the ideal environment in which to communicate our commitment to source and select only the finest aromatic botanicals and to show consumers why Bombay Sapphire delivers the Ultimate Gin & Tonic.”

UK ambassador Sean Ware added: “The menu brings to life some of the exotic regions of origin of our botanicals by taking consumers on a sensory journey through the Mediterranean, Asia and Africa, by way of London, the birthplace of London Dry gin.

“Every Tuesday and Wednesday between 5pm and 7pm we will be hosting informal interactive sessions on the Terrace which offer consumers the opportunity to learn more about what makes the Ultimate Gin & Tonic, including the intricacies of the Bombay Sapphire spirit and the opportunity to touch, smell and taste the exotic botanicals that have been vapour-infused to create the unparalleled taste of Bombay Sapphire gin.”
