Mac ‘n’ cheese inspires new bite-size snack from Funnybones

Funnybones Foodservice Macaroni Cheese Bites

The popularity of American classic mac ‘n’ cheese has led Funnybones Foodservice to introduce Rio Pacific Macaroni Cheese Bites for bars and other caterers.

The supplier, which specialises in Tex-Mex and American food, has incorporated the core elements of the dish into bite-size croquettes of gooey mac ‘n’ cheese.

The macaroni pasta is paired with a mature cheddar cheese sauce, using a recipe unique to Funnybones, and covered in a crispy oaty coating that complements the soft, creamy, filling. They are suitable for vegetarians.

They can work as a starter, snack, side dish or part of a sharing platter and can be served with dipping sauces such as Funnybones’ Rio Pacific Deluxe BBQ or spicy Cajun and Tomato.

Available in 6x1kg bags, they are recommended for deep-frying from frozen in preheated oil at 180C for three to four minutes or until golden brown. They can also be oven baked. Two to three pieces are suggested per portion, with 30 to 33 per 1kg bag.
