The Grand Hotel Birmingham, Colmore Row, B3 2BS
Housed in one of Birmingham’s most iconic buildings on Colmore Row, The Grand Hotel is a Grade II* listed building that re-opened on Tuesday 18th May after a £45million refurbishment. Retaining the building’s French Renaissance exterior, Victorian and Arts & Crafts features, Madeleine Bar follows the tradition of grand hotels with luxurious cocktail bars.
Madeleines’ menu features a selection of delicious classic cocktails, house cocktails, wines, beers and champagnes. On the menu you will find The Madeleine Martini: Absolut Elyx, Pineapple, Raspberry and, to top it off, Lemon Tart Air, the drink to try! Madeleines’ Champagne Cocktail is a delightful mix of Remy Martin 1728, Spiced Sugar and Perrier-Jouet Brut, a golden cocktail. Other classic cocktails include a Bellini, French 75 and Negroni. However, the bar tenders will happily make other classic cocktails on request.
Madeleines’ house cocktails include Gin Couture, Apline Spritz, Antique Negroni, Maison Mexicana and a Round Midnight made up of Remy Martin 1738, Naked Grouse, Mirabelle Eau De Vie, Salted Plum and Smoke.
The menu is also adorned with delicious food options for guests to eat and enjoy whilst in Madeleines’. Snacks include popular choices such as the Mini Hash Browns, Crispy Paneer and Native Oysters. If guests are feeling extra peckish they can treat themselves to a selection of small plates including the Lobster Roll, French Onion Soup or the Prawn cocktail.
Hosted under the sparkling chandeliers and glamourous interiors of Madeleine’s, guests can sip on a glass of Champagne whilst enjoying a delectable selection of finger sandwiches, home-made scones, cakes and fancies and a grand pot of tea. Madeleine takes its name from the French small rich sponge cake, baked in a fluted tin and decorated with coconut and jam.
At the heart of The Grand Hotel, Madeleine combines original Victorian architecture with striking modern features with interiors reimagined by Robert Angell International, bringing comfort and glamour in equal measure. Plush pink sofas, sparkling grand chandeliers, art deco inspired interiors and double height windows give Madeleine its unique and grand feel.
