Mamont competition offers prize of Arctic adventure

mamont polar shipBartenders can win a place on a voyage on a wooden sailing ship in the Arctic through a cocktail competition run for Siberian vodka Mamont.

They are being asked to join forces with a chef to create a Mamont Vodka cocktail and accompanying dish inspired by Siberia and the “spirit of adventure”.

The winning pair from the UK will be flown to Moscow on May 19 or 20 to compete in a final against teams from France and Russia.

The overall winning bartender and chef will join a crew of zoologists, artists, geochemists, archaeologists, marine biologists and photographers on the Mamont Circumpolar Expedition which is sailing round the North Pole.

The pair will travel on board the last ice-class wooden sailing ship that is able to navigate in Arctic waters (pictured), joining the voyage on the leg from Tromsø in Norway to Murmansk in Russia.

There are no restrictions on the cocktail, except that it must contain Mamont Vodka, or on the dish which can be a simple bar snack or full dish – but using Mamont Vodka in the dish may get you bonus points.

The bartender and the chef do not have to work in the same establishment. The deadline for entries is March 23. Click here for the online entry form.

The top entries will be visited in venue by a judging team consisting of Mamont Vodka’s brand ambassador Tamara Mazur, BarLifeUK and a food expert. It is run in the UK by the vodka’s distributor Eaux de Vie.
