Marie Picard wins Beluga Signature 2016


Marie Picard has won Beluga Signature 2016 with her two cocktails created for men and women.

The cocktail for him was named “BE as LU and Gaspard” and comprised Beluga Noble vodka, elderflower liquor, lemon, hibiscus syrup and pomelo zest. The cocktail for her was named “Beluga’thering”, the cocktail ingredients being Beluga Noble vodka, dry vermouth, verbena spray and elderflower liquor.

Second place was taken by Andrea Benvegna from The Connaught Bar in London and Lewis Parry The Curious Cat in Grimsby came third.

During the year bartenders from France, Germany and the UK battled it out for first place. After a series of regional heats, nine made it through to the Moscow-based final, where bartenders took part in the final challenge to demonstrate technique, personality,spirits knowledge and performance under pressure.

Among the judges were Agostino Perrone, director of mixology at The Connaught Bar. Agostino said: “Every competitor has demonstrated their skills, but you should always remember that one of the most vital details in the bartending profession is to radiate confidence and love for the client.”

After the official part, all the finalists, the judging panel and guests moved to the panoramic City Space Bar and the evening continued with a cocktail presentation by legendary mixologists Agostino Perrone and Walter Pintus.
