Matthew Clark to help licensees make the most of Halloween

Celebrating Halloween

Drinks distributor Matthew Clark is offering special deals, ranging advice and point-of-sale kits to help the on-trade make the most of Halloween.

It has created seasonal deals for brands across its portfolio such as Greene King’s Frankenstein and St Austell Brewery’s Bucket of Blood in nine-litre casks as well as Aspalls Mulled Cyder with additional glassware.

To help licensees extend the occasion further, there will also be special offers on tequila and mezcal purchases, allowing outlets to tie in with Mexico’s Day of the Dead celebrations on November 2 and the growing popularity of both spirits.

Cocktail recipes with agave spirits such as the Cinco de Mayo and Bloody Maria are also available to download via Matthew Clark’s “Tequila” brochure.

POS includes a free zombie kit with Jägermeister, Halloween kits with Hobgoblin and Hobgoblin Gold beers, a “Spook” POS kit with Sandeman Founders Reserve port, and Day of the Dead materials with Sauza tequila.

Matthew Clark is helping the trade to benefit from an event that generates greater footfall than both Christmas and New Year, with 41% of consumers now choosing to go out on Halloween.

Ceri Lewis, spirits product controller at Matthew Clark, said: “With the Halloween opportunity continuing to grow year on year, we are dedicated to making sure that our customers have everything they need to increase sales during this period.

“Therefore, as well as great deals, we will also be advising on the best-performing products via our Direct to Customer brochure, website and emails, to help licensees perfect their range.

“As with all key seasonal sales periods, our design studio will also be on hand to provide a free menu design service and a variety of POS materials to help outlets drive footfall.”

Matthew Clark has introduced an enhanced online ordering platform, which is 100% mobile and tablet friendly and fully optimised for use 24 hours a day. Users can easily browse over 7,000 products and buy at the click of a button.
