Monin extends puree range with yuzu, blueberry and cherry

New MONIN flavours

Monin UK has added the three new flavours of yuzu, blueberry and cherry to its range of premium fruit mixes for cocktails.

Tapping into the global trend for Asian-inspired drinks, Le Fruit de Monin Yuzu captures the tangy mandarin and grapefruit flavours of the Japanese citrus fruit.

Yuzu has been widely used in east Asian cuisine for hundreds of years and is now one of the most fashionable ingredients in the UK, described as a “game changer” by celebrity chef Gizzi Erskine.

The new product means bartenders can use yuzu’s refreshing tartness and subtle floral notes in a host of cocktails, mocktails, iced teas and lemonades. See below for some suggested recipes.

Lee Hyde, Monin’s beverage innovation manager, said: “Le Fruit de Monin Yuzu adds a unique citrus kick to a host of beverages. Try it in a Mojito or a handcrafted lemonade for an extra hint of fruity sourness. Alternatively, the marmalade-like consistency makes it perfect for desserts or as an ice cream topping.”

Developed by an expert beverage innovation team at the brand’s headquarters in Bourges, Le Fruit de Monin Yuzu along with the new cherry and blueberry products bring the puree range up to 14.

Lee added: “Like all Monin products, our new Yuzu, Cherry and Blueberry purees will inspire beverage professionals to experiment with on-trend flavour combinations while maintaining excellent consistency and quality from drink to drink and minimising wastage.”

Le Fruit de Monin fruit purees contain at least 50% whole fruits, picked at the best time to ensure a fresh, natural taste and texture. The high fruit concentration means up to 33 drinks can be made from a single one-litre bottle. Its shelf life of four weeks after opening – and 18 months before opening – significantly reduces wastage compared to using fresh fruit.
