Mykonos-Inspired bar and restaurant launches in Mayfair

A five-floor Mediterranean and Asian themed venue called Onima has opened on Avery Row in Mayfair.

Onima comprises a bar, restaurant, private members’ club and rooftop terrace inspired by “the spirit of Mykonos”.

The venue is the vision of founder Alexandros Andrianopoulos, who managed establishments such as Nammos and Interni, and helped to create a vibe that saw Mykonos become one of the world’s most sought-after destinations.

The interior has been reimagined by Greek interior designers Archset, featuring velvet-clad furniture, an imposing bar with bronze details and a regularly changing art collection.

A fusion of Mediterranean and Asian flavours lives at the heart of Onima’s menu. Signature dishes include beef tartare with orange ponzu sauce, heritage tomatoes & celery; King crab salad with seaweed and caviar dressed with yuzu, spring onion & truffle and pineapple carpaccio with cardamom, star anise and coconut panna cotta.

The cocktail collection is spearheaded by the likes of Purple Rain, a blend of mezcal, grapefruit, cardamom, prickly pear, aquafaba and soda.

Over the next few months Onima will also introduce a private members’ club and a glass-enclosed rooftop terrace that will allow guests to admire the views across Mayfair.
