A new cocktail bar offering a contemporary twist on the 19th century Royal Navy officers’ wardroom is launching in the heart of Canary Wharf.
Taking over the messdeck of the new Lincoln Plaza London hotel, guests of Jack Speak can indulge in a collection of naval-inspired rum and gin cocktails, premium spirits and small producer wines.
The bar’s cocktail menu offers both the classics and a host of naval-inspired signatures, from the Salty Spritz, an Aperol base with cognac, grapefruit, bubbly Adam’s ale, coconut and lime salt, enlivened with Jack Speak’s own chilli and grapefruit vermouth, to the Cup & Ball, a mix of spiced rum, sloe gin, fresh sugar cane juice, lime and mint, served with hibiscus ice.
To enhance the experience, Jack Speak’s stewards (aka bartenders) will provide guests with fun historical trivia to accompany their cocktails.
The venue’s interior is inspired by the area’s industrial heritage. Polished concrete floors, steel feature walls and Crittall-style windows are complemented by the likes of railway sleepers and other reclaimed materials to create “an imaginative blend of the classic and the contemporary”.
Jack Speak will host a number of creative events such as street art masterclasses, yoga and DJ lessons, while outside, a landscaped terrace provides a spot for al fresco drinking and socialising.
