Leading bar Callooh Callay in east London is set to launch a new cocktail menu under a new bar manager as it prepares for a refurbishment.

Bobby Hiddleston has been appointed bar manager after previously working as head bartender at The Dead Rabbit Grocery & Grog in New York City and Milk & Honey in London. He also set up High Water in Dalston with Durham Atkinson and Mia Johansson.

Bobby follows in the footsteps of other well-known bartenders including Andrea Montague – now brand ambassador for Bulleit whiskey – and, most recently, Simon Toohey who left at the end of August to study in Edinburgh.

With plans for a new menu, Bobby will head up the bar team comprising Liam Broom, Nathan Shearer and Gillian Boyle, working alongside owner Richard Wynne, general manager Simon Thompson and marketing and PR manager Rebekkah Dooley. They are planning a refurbishment “in the coming months”.

Opened seven years ago, Callooh Callay (pictured) was shortlisted this year in the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards for best international high-volume cocktail bar and, in 2012, it won the award for world’s best cocktail menu. Over the past three years, it has ranked in the list of the World’s 50 Best Bars.
