A stylish bar and a rooftop destination for drinking and dining are to open as part of a new luxury Crowne Plaza hotel opening on the banks of the Thames in London.
Crowne Plaza London – Albert Embankment is to open in May this year, part of a wider development of the area around Vauxhall including the new US embassy that is due to open in Nine Elms on January 16.
Inspired by the new embassy, the hotel will feature an American lobby bar and restaurant with capacity for over 70 guests. A stunning bar will stand at the centre of the room, offering an extensive cocktail menu as well as wines, spirits and beers.
The hotel will also have a destination “chic sky terrace” for alfresco dining on the 14th floor with capacity for 70 people, offering panoramic views of the Thames, Westminster and beyond.
Pictured as a computer-generated image, the interiors will be a mix of sophisticated blues along with copper and metallic tones, with open fires and floor-to-ceiling glass.
It will offer expansive collections of wines and spirits plus a shisha and cigar terrace, with soft, sumptuous seating. The hotel is being designed by ADS Design and RPW Design.
With 142 bedrooms, it will be the first luxury hotel to open in the Albert Embankment area which also includes many new residential developments, from Battersea Power Station to Embassy Gardens.
