The Tails range of pre-mixed cocktails has been taken on by distributor Hi-Spirits after a redesign and reformulation of the recipes.
The ready-to-serve drinks have been refreshed in collaboration with Dutch spirits and liqueur producer Lucas Bols, working with its master distiller and head mixologist.
With new products added to the range, the cocktails are now made with new higher-quality liquids and ingredients, including Bols liqueurs.
Tails, which come in 125ml and 500ml packs, is already stocked by operators such as Geronimo Inns and the UK’s largest theatre owners, Ambassador Theatre Group.
The core single-serve 125ml shaking range now includes Mango Caipirinha, Espresso Martini, Mai Tai, Cosmopolitan and Elderflower Collins, all at 15% ABV.
Four-serve 500ml packs, which are modelled on a three-piece shaker, are also available for the Mai Tai and Espresso Martini. The silver and black bottle now features bolder graphics, spotlighting the reformulation, and a metallic top, giving the brand a stronger fridge and shelf presence.
Two new super-premium stirring cocktails have been added: the Ginger Old Fashioned and Dutch Bramble, available in 500ml four-serve glass bottles at 20% ABV (pictured).
Tails managing director Nick Wall said: “The high quality of the Tails range made the drinks industry rethink its view of pre-mixed cocktails when we initially launched in 2010. The new recipes, using even more premium ingredients, allow the range to genuinely compete with the best made-to-order cocktails. We’re delighted to be working with Hi-Spirits to take the Tails range to a wider market.”
Dan Bolton, managing director of Hi-Spirits, added: “Cocktail sales are booming in the on-trade, and pre-mixed cocktails play an important role for operators, particularly on occasions where the time or skills needed to mix drinks from scratch isn’t available.
“The Tails range is, quite simply, the best-quality pre-mixed cocktail range available and an important addition to our portfolio of premium brands.”
The Tails range is also stocked by hotel groups Crowne Plaza, Melia and Z Hotels and is sold by retailers including John Lewis and Harvey Nichols, and on EasyJet flights.
