New Forest Ice Cream has introduced a new Honey & Fig flavour just in time for summer menus.
The new flavour comprises of a honey dairy base that is interlaced with real pieces of fig for a “sweet yet sophisticated” take on the classic pairing.
According to the company, Honey & Fig can be served alone or with a number of different desserts, including a French tarte au citron infused with blood orange.
Like the rest of the New Forest range of ice cream and sorbets, which includes over 40 flavours, the Honey & Fig variant is free from artificial colours and flavours and is produced in a nut-free facility. It is available in 4ltr/4.75ltr catering tubs.
New Forest Ice Cream’s director Christina Veal said: “Serving nuts in pubs and bars is nothing new, but with more beer styles and brands on our bars than ever before, it’s time operators looked again at the profit-making potential of premium nuts and how their flavours can really work with often complex styles of beer.
“We’ve taken five of the most popular styles of beer sold in the UK and, in partnership with the Beerbelle, created a really simple and highly effective guide to which varieties and flavours pair best.
“Annabel is not only one of the UK’s most prominent beer experts, she’s also an unashamed nut enthusiast, so working with her to create this guide was a real no-brainer.
“We’re hoping that anyone serving beer is, upon accessing the series, inspired to think different when it comes to snacking.”
