A range of gins under the brand of Campfire is set to be launched in 2016 by a new distillery in Hertfordshire.

Local business people Kate and Ben Marston (pictured) plan to set up Puddingstone Distillery in Wilstone near Tring after years of experience in the craft beer industry.

They are raising funds for the enterprise through crowdfunding platform Crowdfunder. For details of investments and incentives, visit www.crowdfunder.co.uk/puddingstonedistillery.

Campfire will initially be available as a bold 42% ABV London dry gin but will be followed by navy-strength and cask-aged varieties. Plans for seasonal gins, using locally sourced botanicals, are also in place.

Kate said: “We have many years’ experience in the craft beer industry and saw the opportunity to meet the growing demand for specialist local gins.

“We have spent the last 16 months extensively researching the UK gin industry before kicking off the project and launching our crowdfunding campaign to give Hertfordshire its very own gin distillery.”

Kate, who also heads graphic design and web agency KM Design, was winner of the business services category in the national Best Business Women Awards in October.
